What sets the Angel Bench apart from other designs is its unique construction. Made with three layers of an acrylic solid surface, the bench exudes a sense of lightness and minimalism. The internal metallic structure provides stability and support, allowing the bench to withstand the test of time. Whether placed indoors or outdoors, in a gallery or a garden, the Angel Bench is sure to make a statement.
The wings of the bench are meticulously molded by hand, giving each Angel Bench its own distinct shape and character. After each layer of the bench is heated in an oven for 30 minutes, Curioni has only a few seconds to mold the wings into the desired curvature. This process ensures that each bench is truly one-of-a-kind.
The Angel Bench is crafted using Staron, an acrylic solid surface produced by Samsung. The material's antibacterial properties, moldability under heat, and ability to be fixed with a special glue make it the perfect choice for this design. The bench's dimensions are 2000 x 770 x 970 and 2200 x 900 x 1100, and it is available in a pristine white color.
Functionally, the Angel Bench serves as a comfortable seat, inviting individuals to relax and enjoy their surroundings. Whether placed in a gallery, a garden, or a private residence, the bench adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to any space.
The Angel Bench project took four months to complete and was manufactured in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It made its debut at Paralela Movel, a renowned furniture design exhibition, where it garnered attention and praise for its innovative design and impeccable craftsmanship.
Curioni's research for the Angel Bench focused on creating a visually light design that conveys a sense of movement and purity. The choice of Staron as the primary material presented a significant challenge, as it required careful structuring to ensure the bench's stability. However, Curioni's perseverance paid off, resulting in a design that seamlessly blends artistry and functionality.
The Angel Bench has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Street and City Furniture Design category in 2016. This award recognizes designs that demonstrate exceptional creativity and resourcefulness, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
With its sculptural silhouette and modern allure, the Angel Bench is a testament to Curioni's artistic vision and technical expertise. Whether admired in a gallery, enjoyed in a garden, or cherished in a private residence, this bench is sure to captivate and inspire all who encounter it.
